"I come into a working knowledge that all that He is and has is mine also." Do you believe this affirmation, or do you still believe that you are separated from Him, that He is above and you are below?

I find that people still find it very hard to accept the Truth that they are constituted of God, that their whole being is permeated with His presence. When you pray, it is going within yourselves. Yet you may say "I am so full of commissions, so full of omissions. If God constitutes me in every cell of my being, which he must do if He is Omnipresence, why all this unhappiness in my life, and all the tragedies in the world?"

I have given this analogy before: I have here say a 10 amp light globe. It cannot take any more. If there is a surge of power in this globe the filament will be destroyed. You and I are like this globe--- we can take only so much of God's Mind, Which is Omniscience, into our intellect. We are not full of "sin", we are not "evil". What we need is to build up greater capacity in heart and mind to receive God's good.

Faith is what expands us. Faith is our knowledge of God. It is we who permit God to manifest in ourselves and our affairs. We invite Him into our consciousness. Hence the Master's admonition "O man of little faith, why did you doubt?" He could equally have said "O man of little knowledge." "Behold, the kingdom of God is within you" declared the Master, and Paul added "You are God's temple, and God's Spirit dwells in you." How wondrous it is that we can never be separated from this Presence of Love, that He can never separate Himself from us. He never decides whether we shall have good or not have good--- we decide. I, with my small understanding of Love, am filled with compassion for all humanity, and desire only good for all people everywhere.

You can go on living life after life, going from step to step, from class to class, from school to school, until you acknowledge God and permit Him to come into your lives, but all the time it is only you who are delaying things. God does not discipline us. God knows of no "sin". It is you who maintain separation. Are you permitting God to flow through you? Say to yourself "When I sit down, God sits down, when I get up and walk, He walks, when I run He runs." Make your choice. God does not impose limits, is not judging you.

My intelligence tells me, especially after decades of experience of God working in my life and in your lives, that nothing is impossible. Everything is possible, everything is certain with God. This Presence wants fulfilment. It is not satisfied with mediocrity. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me."

How much do you believe in God, this beloved Presence? Are you daring to trust Him, or are there reservations? I have found no reservations in God--- not because I am good, not because I am better than anyone else, but because I do believe, I do take the active steps. At first we may only crawl, but soon we walk and then we run. As I look into the past, at all the good that God has been in my life and in the lives of so many of you people, even the things that some of you told me at the door this morning as you came in, the wonderful demonstrations you have experienced, at the letters we receive from you, we cannot not believe in God.

It depends on you, it depends on me. I do not want to have a limited life, a restricted life. I do not want to feel any reservations. It is according to your faith that it is done unto you. It does not depend on your specific religious beliefs. God's Law encompasses all religious denominations everywhere. Their peculiar practises are unnecessary for God. I am the temples ---spirit, mind, heart and body--- of God, as are you. I cannot leave my heart, my feelings, out of this for it is the instrument of God's Soul. It is what is in my heart, not what I say, that is the catalyst that releases His love and goodness through me. It is the way I feel about Him.

Why do you limit God? "Thou hast given (me) dominion over the works of Thy hands." It is our job to demand God's good, and to demand means to act as though it is true. It is not shouting, but showing that you believe it is true. "I believe in You dear Father, and because I believe in You I am taking this practical step. I know, and I know that I know, that it is right, that people will only benefit from it. I will not limit You spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically or materially." I have known this for over 50 years. There is no doubt in my heart about God. As a youngster, when I first started on the Path, although it was a blind belief, not an act of faith, it was adequate. I had the courage to take the practical steps, to show that I believed, even though I was whistling in the dark.

You may feel that you are too full of sin but "though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow." "The Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son"--- to you and to me. As long as my heart is right with God, as long as I have this understanding that what I am doing is right, then it is right. If you are going the wrong way God will put you into the right way, if necessary put obstacles into your path to divert you from the negative path. But you must get going, take the steps, dare to hope in God and act fearlessly.

My family thought I was fanatical when I said I believe it could be done because the Master said so, that he is the voice of authority. But how do we know it cannot be done before we try? So I made it Hobson's choice--- I put myself in a position where only God could help me, where I had no one to advise or guide me. Everyone about me was opposed to my move. "It is not for you, for the likes of us" they said. "It is only for saints." But the Master spoke to ordinary people did he not? He said you can do all these things if you believe--- not even have faith, but as long as you believe. Let me give an example of how belief grows into faith: You can believe or even only think you believe that if you put on this switch you will get light, although you have never experienced it before. Maybe the circuit is fused or the filament in the globe is burnt-out so that when you switch it on your belief is shattered. You say "You see, it doesn't work" and I say "But I know it works--- let us test the globe and if it still doesn't work we'll check the fuse box. After we have done what may be necessary I say "Now try" and lo, it works and you declare "I see--- I am enlightened." You will never have to come to me again because your experience has shifted from what was tentative belief to knowledge, to faith.

Start with small things that confront you. Depend entirely on God to have them resolved. Be nonchalant about them, and you will have a wonderful experience. The same principle will bring into manifestation the answer to a major problem. The urgency or pressure may daunt you but on the other hand it may force you to new heights of faith, it may expand you. Remember, no matter what you are trying to demonstrate it is already done. God does not cause something to be created for you--- it is already in manifestation in every particle, pulse and cell of your being as a spiritual idea. It only has to be condensed, or crystallized.

The whole world is in turmoil because of unbelief. You pray a thing right or you pray it out. You do not fight a thing. The more you fight the problem or circumstance or person the more you invest power in it and the more it resists you. "Resist not evil" says the Master. Do not give it any power, turn your back on it. Say in the Master's words "Get thee behind me Satan!" Say "I do not want to see you. You are a lie in my consciousness." You cannot see a problem that is behind you. When people look at their problem it is like looking at their shadow. They are running after their shadow with the sun behind them. The faster they run the faster their shadow runs. But the instant they turn around, away from their shadow, an entirely different prospect opens up, one full of light, with no shadows.

If God is immanent, if God constitutes His own universe, how can anything negative be real? Even one bad onion in His bag would destroy everything. There is only God the Good. People say to me "Be factual. Be realistic." But I am being realistic. I am looking into Light, I cannot see problems. I am looking into Life, I cannot see disease. I am looking into Love, I cannot see unhappiness. I am looking into Plenty, I cannot see poverty. I am looking into Faith, I cannot see fear.

Read the 91st Psalm or the 23rd Psalm. It will give you great comfort. "A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you ---if you dwell in the shelter of the Most High"--- if you live in the consciousness of His presence within you, constituting you.

It does not take us at the School long to assess your consciousness when you come to see us. Out of the fullness of your heart you say how much you do or do not believe in God. To be "born again" means to change your consciousness--- your thinking and feeling and acting. This is practical Christianity. It has nothing to do with rituals or creeds or dogmas. It has to do with God and yourself, with Divine Mind and its vehicle as your intellect, with Soul and its vehicle as your heart, with His Son and its vehicle as your entire being. It is all One in different gradations, not separated, not compartmented.

If my heart is right with God, that is if my feelings are right. I cannot be afraid, no matter how pressing the problem. I know it has no power whatever, because the only Presence and the only Power in the universe is God the Good. When things become tight, or difficult, I must simply give them away, yes give them away, from myself.

In a television programme I saw the other night Billy Graham was asked "Don't you think you simplify things too much?" and he said "No." I agree with him--- you cannot be simple enough. The essence of Truth is simplicity. The Master taught that you must become as a little child in the way you receive the consciousness of God within you, you must have no reservations, set no limitations. So it is done unto you, not according to your needs but according to His riches--- love, happiness, health, security and abundance.
